Hafren's Daffodils

Hafren’s Daffodils

From an original linocut
image size: 105 mm
card size: 150mm

This linocut in my ‘Hafren’ series was made for a community exhibition in Newent, the delightful town in the heart of wild daffodil country on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. Hafren, brought back to life here from her watery grave in the River Severn makes an offering of daffodils by the light of the setting sun to the river that carries her name in Welsh. Birds keep her company and the waters are calm. She represents strength in adversity, harmony with nature, confidence in the eternal.

The image was professionally printed onto Somerset Enhanced 225gm acid free authentic fine art paper from St Cuthbert’s Mill, Somerset, using the highest quality archival pigment inks. This was mounted onto Japanese Hosho paper, which in turn was applied to a 350gm satin card. A thumbnail print was applied to the back of the card with details of printing. Finally the card was signed, dated and titled by the artist.

This card is the perfect size to be mounted into a standard 25 x25cm frame. a perfect small gift which can be displayed for many years without fear of fading.

The card is left blank for your message.
