'Hafren’s Daffodils' was made for a community exhibition in Newent, the delightful country town in the heart of the wild daffodil area of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire and is the second of a series of four major linocut prints. It is a reduction print in five colours, cut in five stages from a single block of lino.

Hafren, brought back to life from her watery grave makes an offering of daffodils by the light of the setting sun to the river that carries her name in Welsh. Collared doves keep her company on her ship and the waters are calm. She represents strength in adversity, harmony with nature, confidence in the eternal.
